You may notice a small change across the Conscious Strategies website: I’m moving from title case to sentence case.
Digital content isn’t a book cover
Title case comes from publishing, where capitalization helped distinguish titles from surrounding text. Digital pages already use typography, spacing, and hierarchy to signal headings.
Sentence case removes an unnecessary layer of formality. It feels quieter, more natural, and more human.
We don’t read websites. We scan them.
People scan webpages for headings, links, and other signals that help them decide what deserves attention.
Headings are functional: they should explain what comes next at a glance. Sentence case follows familiar reading patterns and supports that goal.
It supports plain language
My work centers on making complex information easier to understand. Clarity comes from removing barriers between readers and meaning—not from making language sound important.
Sentence case supports that approach. It helps a brand sound knowledgeable without sounding institutional, because authority does not require formality.
What about SEO and AI search?
Sentence case will not improve search rankings or make AI systems more likely to cite a page. The meaningful factor is content structure.
Clear headings, logical hierarchy, direct answers, and well-organized information help people navigate a page and help systems interpret it. That is where UX, SEO, and AI visibility align.
Writing for people and optimizing for machines are not competing goals. Good content strategy serves both.
A small change that reflects a bigger one
Switching to sentence case will not transform my search rankings. It reflects a broader approach to digital communication: less convention, more intention; less publishing for its own sake, more focus on whether content can be found, understood, trusted, and used.
That is where Conscious Strategies is heading—toward clearer paths between questions and answers, down to the smallest details.
